WHAT IS NEEDED TO QUALIFY FOR AN ACCOMPANYING MINOR VISA?
You need to be a biological or legally adopted child of the main applicant or temporary residence visa holder.
As the child of a South African temporary residence visa (Work visa, Retired person visa etc) holder you are required by law to apply for a Visitor’s visa in terms of section 11(1) b (iv) of the Immigration Act of 2002, as amended
This visa allows you to lawfully reside with your parent while he/she is on a work assignment or retired in South Africa. This visa does not allow you to work, study or conduct a business in South Africa.
CAN I STUDY IN SOUTH AFRICA WHILE ON AN ACCOMPANYING MINOR VISA?
Children under the age of 7 who are not considered to be of school going age, can go to kinder garden/ preparatory schools using the Accompanying minor visa as per the South African Immigration Act.
Children from the age of 7 will need to apply for Study visa to allow them to study in South Africa.
